"It's amazing!

When we remodeled the kitchen in another house 30 years ago, it took nearly six MONTHS--not six WEEKS. I confess that I was skeptical when Ferguson General Manager George Fisher said that our horrible mid-century kitchen could be transformed so quickly.

In addition to being a rapid process, it has been painless. They've made everything so easy; they even provided a storage unit and hired movers to empty the old kitchen for me. The installers have become part of the Sims family; they're not only meticulous craftsmen, they're totally trustworthy and extremely considerate.

Only a few finishing touches are left to be done. The new chandelier has been hung, and the electricians are in the kitchen right now connecting the under- and over-cabinet lighting. After years of cooking in semi-darkness, we finally have light everywhere!

Earlier this week Augusta Granite installed the magnificent quartz counter tops. I'm so pleased to have a natural stone surface that doesn't require sealing every year. The color variation in the Ceasarstone works beautifully with the mosaic tile backsplash from the Carpet Shop.

The fabulous Electrolux appliances---microwave oven, duel-fuel range, French-door refrigerator and dishwasher are here. It's so exciting to have a refrigerator/freezer wide enough for serving trays and frozen pizzas. I may need a refresher course in loading a dishwasher; it's been 12 years since I had one!

The Ferguson designers gave me everything I requested: maximum cabinet and counter space, an efficient appliance configuration, better lighting and low maintenance. The kitchen is bright and beautiful and seems much larger than before.

Before the Extreme Kitchen Makeover Contest, I knew Ferguson as the best place in town to buy kitchen and bathroom fixtures, but I was not aware that it is a one-stop kitchen and bath source. With top-of-the-line appliances, cabinetry and lighting, as well as professional designers and installers, Ferguson really can do the entire job!

Right now, I'm typing through tears--tears of gratitude for what Ferguson and its suppliers have done for my family. My three daughters and I have endured a series of challenges--the divorce and subsequent move from a large new home into a crowded, older one; my cancer diagnosis and year-long treatment, and, most recently, the financial instability caused by my job layoff. Winning the kitchen contest has been a much-needed blessing for all of us. It's our own Christmas miracle!"

"The floors in Anne's kitchen are finished, so we are on our way. The wall color that we originally chose is not jiving with cabinet color so we will be repainting the walls this week. We have decided to change the paint color to "Clover Brook." The cabinets are in, but they will probably not be going up until next week. Hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving!"
