Anne Sims: Week 3 Blog

"It's Thanksgiving and I have almost too many blessings to count!
This year, I'm especially grateful for my family and friends who worked so hard to help the Sims family win the Ferguson Extreme Kitchen contest. I'm sure they're thankful that my voter-recruitment campaign--also known as the "nagathon"--is over!
I'm also thankful for all the new friends I've made:
- Ferguson General Manager George Fisher and Showroom Manager Jeramy Hooper, who conceived the idea of the local contest and made it all happen; the amazing design team of Terry Kormka, Jenny Brantley, April Adams, Barbara Mitchell & Carrol Landrum, who have figured out how to transform a chamber of horrors into a dream kitchen, and Ferguson installers Larry Wilson & Royce Miller, who put up with us AND our dog every day and have become part of the family.
- Designer Christina McDaniel of the Carpet Shop, who led me to a beautiful, but practical, tile to replace the ugliest kitchen floor in Augusta.
- Laurie Morrison, Trish Thornhill & Rick Krewson of WJBF-TV who have made documenting the makeover so easy and so much fun.
I wish all my friends--old & new--a wonderful Thanksgiving!"

"As we begin week three, The Carpet Shop is finishing up the flooring in Anne's Kitchen. Although we appear to be a little behind schedule, I was told this morning that we are actually ahead! The cabinets are coming in Wednesday and we will begin installation on Thursday of this week. Hopefully by Thanksgiving, the cabinets will be finished. Although Anne will not be able to use her kitchen for Thanksgiving, she will be able to cook a fabulous Christmas dinner in her new kitchen."
